The Scarlatti Sphere

In 1739, Thomas Roseingrave published 42 of Domenico Scarlatti's

Sonatas in London. They became hugely popular and many composers

based in Britain were inspired by his music. Among the subscribers

to this volume were composers such as Thomas Arne, Charles Avison,

William Boyce, Maurice Greene, and John Stanley.

This project aims to present Scarlatti's Sonatas that were so popular in Britain

at the time alongside music by composers based in Britain.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, recitals scheduled in York (UK),
